Honor Band

Mia has performed with two honor bands this year, the Tracy Youth Honor Band and the Bay Area Youth Honor Band. This is her at one of her performances. She is a good musician and has been teaching herself to play piano in addition to playing her clarinet.

Halloween 2011

Mia, Victoria and their friend Jessica.

I decided to forego my usual habit of being a witch on my birthday and actually me in a good mood this year. I don't know if I was a pageant queen or a princess.

Gorgeous Girl

Victoria looked so pretty for her 8th grade promotion, too pretty in fact, I don't think I can let her go to high school.

Wow 6 Years, Happy Anniversary!

Wow six years where has the time gone. It doesn't seem like it has been that long. It hasn't always been easy breezy but I love my family even though it gets bumpy at times. For our anniversary I wanted to do something different so we went kayaking at the harbor in Sausalito. We saw some sea lions and lots of beautiful scenery. If you looked one way you could see the bay bridge and San Francisco and if you looked the other way you could see the beautiful mountains of Marin County and the gorgeous houses of Tiburon and Sausalito. After kayaking we went to Muir Beach to see the tide pools. We missed low tide by 20 minutes so the water was coming back in and we didn't see much. I really wanted Gordo to feel a sea anemone because their stinging cells feel like they are grabbing you, so I was bent over looking under a rock and didn't see a huge wave that come up and soaked me head to toe. Gordo saw it coming though and didn't warn me, he just laughed and laughed. Even on our anniversary he is just the sweetest thing. (Yes that is sarcasm) But I did get a few pictures of anemones but not nearly as big and colorful as I have seen at other spots near half moon bay. After the beach we went and bummed around Berkeley. We ate tacos at a place called Gordo Taqueria and stood in a very long line to get organic ice cream, only in Berkeley. All in all a good day, that was centered all around what I wantet to do, which was a very good present. Happy Anniversary Gordo, thanks for all you have done for me the last 6 years.

Easter 2011

Oh my it's Easter.

Victoria doing who knows what.

Aileena and Mia dying easter eggs.

Yeah Candy for Breakfast!

You are never really too old to search for choclate right?

Sleepy Bunnies

Easter Morning Victoria, Aileena, and Mia.

For Easter the girls were still eager for their baskets and egg hunt, then we died easter eggs, that were not boiled because no one here likes to eat boiled eggs. Then we had a yummy breakfast of french toast and potatoes. Later in the day we went to Sacramento to Aunt Laura's house, where we had so much food, fried chicken, steak, ham, corn on the cob, salad, and cake and ice cream. The girls hunted for eggs there too which they always like because their eggs are full of money. After that it was off to Gloria and Chuy's for dinner, more steak, chicken and ribs. So all in all a very yummy, high calorie holiday, isn't that how they are supposed to be? Of course we always miss the family in Utah but we are fortunate to have relatives out here.

Coit Tower

We went into San Francisco last weekend and I wanted to do something we had not done before, so we went to Coit Tower. We went on a tour of the murals painted inside, which are mostly all done in the social-realism style of Diego Rivera, and depict California life during the depression. Then we rode to the top and enjoyed the aerial view of the city, so pretty. Then we went to North Beach and bought yummy canolies and ate them at Ocean Beach.
